Multihull Cup returns bigger and better than ever in 2024

Multihull Cup, the sailing world’s only regatta dedicated to 50-foot-plus performance cruising multihulls, is back for 2024 with new dates and the prospect of an exciting new class catering for the ultra-high speed MOD70s.

In what will be the sixth edition of the celebration of performance catamaran and trimaran sailing, the exclusive and stylish Port Adriano marina on Mallorca’s stunning southwest coast will again be the host port for three days of racing from 27th to 29th September.

The move from its traditional August dates allows the Multihull Cup to neatly fill the space – both geographically and spatially – between the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Porto Cervo and the America’s Cup in Barcelona.

Organisers are also delighted to have received serious interest from three potential MOD70 entries as well as previous and first-time competitors. These include MHC winners Allegra, the 84’ Nigel Irens designed flyer who won in 2021, Highland Fling XVIII Gunboat’s new flagship, the newly-refitted Morrelli & Melvin designed and 2022 victor Coco de Mer, and the MC60 Dragon which will be returning from Australia and no doubt hoping for a repeat of her 2019 triumph.

“Port Adriano has been a great host over the years and we are delighted to be returning there once again,” said Multihull Cup Event Director Andrea Grimm.

“We have been able to benefit from the reliable and exciting racing conditions off the Mallorcan coast, while the race start line is almost directly outside the marina entrance, so we are looking forward to welcoming back old friends and making new ones in September.”
